THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Margaret E. Hueckstaedt, 95, Lena, died Thursday, Nov. 25 at Sharpe Care, Ltd., Oconto Falls.
She was born to the late Frank and Clara Johnson on April 7, 1915 in Stockholm, Sweden. She came to the United States with her parents at the age of nine years. They moved to Chicago, Ill. where she graduated from an all girls high school, Lucy Flower High. In 1935 she married Ervin J. Hueckstaedt and the couple purchased a farm in the Lena area in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1981.
Survivors include one son, Bob (Cheri) Hueckstaedt of Lena; a daughter, Carol (Ron) Gretzon of Lena; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lotti (Tony) Veriha, and a son, Ronald.
Friends called at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home in Lena on Monday, Nov. 29 from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was at the Town of Lena Cemetery.
