James E. Klein
James Edward Klein, passed away on Monday, May 2.
Born in West Allis to the late Raymond and Ruth Klein, he married Audrey Reinhardt of Milwaukee. She preceded him in death in 2005.
The couple resided in the Milwaukee-Racine area and owned property for many years in Stiles on the Machickanee Flowage, where they vacationed. He worked as a Tool and Die Maker in Milwaukee until his retirement in 1990, when he and his wife moved permanently to Stiles and built a home. In 2002 they moved to Iron River, Mi. and in 2008 he moved to Green Bay. He was an avid outdoorsman and a gunsmith. He enjoyed doing taxidermy, feeding birds, gardening and many vacations with his family.
Surviving are a son, Joseph (Lesley) Klein of Madison; three daughters, Paula Gosmire of Kansasville, Laura (Don) Berglin of Laverne, Calif. and Mary (Mike Brabank) Klein of Iron River, Mi.; a son-in-law, Dennis Ostrowski of Mukwonago; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald (Kathy) Klein of Dousman and six sisters, Janice Kafer of Waterford, Kathy (Jerry) Wellens of Cape Coral, Fla., Holly (Bob) Staedter and Linda (Terry) Felkner, both of East Troy, Sue (Phil) Peavy of West Allis and Karen (Don) Casperson of Mountain.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Ostrowski; two grandsons, Barry Ernst, jr. and Timothy Klein; a great-great-grandson, Braiden Ostrowski; a son-in-law, Ron Gosmire; a sister, Nancy Sedovic and a brother-in-law, Thomas (Muriel) Klein.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 14 from 11 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Fr. Bob Groher will officiate and burial will be at St. Patricks Church Cemetery, Stiles. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Oconto is assisting the family.
