Over the past few weeks Tom Nelson has been running an ad against Mike Gallagher stating that Mr. Gallagher wants to cut Social Security benefits for Seniors. This has to be one of the most dishonest ads ever put out there. It is blatantly wrong. FactCheck.org finds this ad to be false and reminds us that 30 second attack ads are a poor source of information. Unfortunately the damage is done when scare tactics are used against a person or a select group of people. These flat out lies are difficult to overcome. The truth must prevail in order to have a free and open election. And in this case Mike Gallagher is dedicated to preserving and protecting Social Security. His position on this issue can be found on his website at http://www.mikeforwisconsin.com.
I called the Nelson campaign and asked in a very nice way if they could tell me where they obtained the information that Mike Gallagher wanted to cut SS benefits for Seniors. They told me that is what Mr Gallagher said. I challenged them for more information. It was at that point they became very snarky and hung up. So I sent an email to their office with the same question. The first email went through. Didn't get an answer. A second email was rejected and I am now blocked. So much for honest conversation.
Voters must be able to rely on honest and accurate information in order to make good decisions for our state and the country. When this doesn't happen, violators need to be called out on it and that is exactly what I have done here. Vote for honesty, please vote for Mike Gallagher.
