THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
From Our Readers
On November 8th Wisconsinites will have the opportunity to vote in the most important election they will ever vote in. It is safe to say that our lives and the lives of our children will be affected far into the future. There are any number of issues facing this Nation, but our National Debt and the free spending of our President is out of control. Electing people that will represent us and stop this insane spending is critical.
Senator Ron Johnson has in the past and will continue to do so in the future. His opponent, ex-Senator Russ Feingold would love to get back into Washington and continue his free spending, Liberal Agenda.
Feingold states in his campaign ads how he intends to help Wisconsin Workers if he gets back to Washington. Feingold does not have one solid accomplishment that helped the people of Wisconsin in 18 years. How can he possibly make those false claims when he failed us so consistently in the 18 years he was in Washington? Yes voters, 18 years with a failing record. For example each year Feingold would visit each County in the State, I personally attended 16 of those 18 Town Hall Meetings in Forest County and carried the message regarding the lack of Timber Harvesting and management on our National Forests. The harvest actually declined during his tenure. He did nothing to help an Industry so important to the State's economy, and so important to the health of Wisconsin National Forests. It is important to note that over 56,000 direct jobs and another 50,000 jobs produced in other sectors can be attributed to the Forest Products Industry contributing over 3 Billion in payroll per year in Wisconsin. Folks, that's not "chicken feed".
That's why harvesting and Management of our National Forests is so important. Senator Ron Johnson has been in office for less than six years. With his help our harvesting on the Chequamegon-Nicolet has gone from approximately 58 Million Board Feet per year to an estimated 110 Million Board Feet this year and growing. This not only has created numerous jobs but also saved jobs in our Forest Products Industry that may have been lost. In addition the additional Forest Management is contributing to the well being of our feathered and furry forest friends. In my opinion Ron Johnson is a clear choice for another 6 years. He has earned and deserves your vote.
