White Potato Lake Ice Fishing Derby Jan. 21

The White Potato Lake Sportsmen's Club 28th Annual Ice Fishing Derby is Saturday, Jan. 21 at Wouter's Front II on the shore of White Potato Lake. Fish registration is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third largest fish in the walleye, northern, bass, perch, bluegill and crappie categories. Attendance tickets are required for the fishing contest and will also enter participants in hourly drawings during the day.
The day's festivities will take place in an 80' X 40' heated tent and includes raffles, music, hot lunch and refreshments. Advance ticket sales will be available Friday, Jan. 20 at Wouter's Front II starting at 3 p.m. and ticket sales will continue Saturday in the tent. These will include $50, $2, Meatski's Meat raffle and attendance tickets. Derby $50 tickets have four- $1,000, seven- $500 and 10- $250 winners. Only 250 of these tickets will be sold. There are $2 tickets, three for $5, or eight for $10 with a top prize of $500.
Meatski's Meat Raffle consists of two half hog packages, two winners and tickets are $5 each or three for $10. Attendance tickets are sold for $1, seven for $5, 15 for $10 or 40 for $20. There are eight hourly attendance prize drawings with up to 35 prizes awarded every hour. Tickets purchased are good for every drawing.
Some of the other raffles are a Wing Span, Table and Quickie Raffle. There will be a special "Kids Raffle" which is free for children under age 12 with every child winning a prize. Drawings will be held at 2 p.m. and the children must be present to win.
