Robert C. Herman, 86, of Suring, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 27.
Born Jan. 10, 1931, to the late Viler and Mabel (Wege) Herman in Neenah, after graduation, he served for four years in the United States Army. He married Lorraine Hoehne on Aug. 18, 1956 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Neenah and they celebrated 60 years together. For over 20 years he worked as a typographer at Banta Publishing.
An avid Packer fan, he enjoyed the outdoors, time with family and friends, was a connoisseur of all things butter and was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Suring and the American Legion Post #283 in Suring.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Suring; two sons, William (Sheri) Herman of Neenah and Scott (Tina Anderson) Herman of De Pere; a daughter, Debbie (Kurt) Kohl of Appleton; two grandchildren; many other nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine and two sisters.
Visitation will be held at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Suring on Friday, Feb. 3 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Wayne C. Garman will officiate followed by Military honors. Interment will be in Rest Haven in Menasha at a later date. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home of Suring is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial fund has been established.
