Living Waters Church Holds Annual Meeting
Pound"Living Waters Lutheran Church (LCMC) of Pound held their annual meeting in the social hall, followed by a potluck luncheon after the 10 a.m. worship service.
The meeting opened with a prayer by Pastor Bill Retza. Ralph Mortinson was elected meeting chairman and roll call was followed by the reading and adoption of the minutes of last years meeting.
Reports of the officers and leaders of organizations were approved as read. A motion to reaffirm Pastor Retza's call to serve the church was unanimously approved. The Leadership Team for 2017 is president Dave Evancheck, vice president and outreach ministry Gina Nelson, treasurer and pastoral care ministry Sam Evancheck, leadership team assistant Julie Retza, Deaconess Betty Klein, Deacon and church reporter Ralph Mortinson, assistant Deacon Billy Retza, youth education Wanda Gappa.
For the coming year the radio ministry will continue on Hits 96.3 FM at 8 a.m. every Sunday. The church ministries will support Iron Mountain VA Veterans Fund, Hillside Assembly of God Pound Food Pantry, Crivitz Food Pantry, Pay it Forward Fund, LCMC Nationals Fund and the Menominee Animal Shelter.
They will also select an area needy family to receive a food basket at Easter and Christmas. The Church will sponsor free meals to the public in the social hall on the 3rd Sunday of each month from noon to 1:30 p.m. If able bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantry.
The church will again take an active part in the activities in the Village of Pound and all funds raised will go toward the ministries of the church.
The schedule of events for 2017 include Sunday Worship at 10 a.m. with coffee and snacks to follow. On Wednesday evening is Family Devotions and Youth Education at 6 p.m., Monday worship at NewCare Convalescent Center in Crivitz at 10 a.m. and on the second Sunday of each month is Holy Communion at the Worship Service.
The third Sunday of each month old time Gospel music with sons chosen by the congregation are sung. The year's budget was approved as given.
Church volunteers were recognized for what they do for the community.
