Carmelita S. Lloyd
Carmelita "Carmen" S. Lloyd , passed away Monday, Jan. 30.
Born April 28, 1965 in Manila, Philippines to Cirilo Sarangaya and Teresita Soriano, she graduated from National Teacher's College in 1985. She immigrated to America where she met her husband James "Jim" Lloyd and they married on Nov. 19, 1988.
The couple attended Lakeside Assembly of God in Menominee where she served as a Deaconess, taught Sunday School and worked with the youth whom she referred to as "her girls." She was an active member of the Marinette-Menominee Jail Outreach and the Gideons International Auxiliary, Marinette-Menominee camp. She worked at Nicolet National Bank as a Personal Banker where she was known for her smile and was an example of inspired faith, kindness and love.
She is survived by her husband, James Lloyd; her mother, Teresita Soriano; a brother, Alberto (Merle) Sarangaya; a sister, Ann Soriano; three step-children, Shelly (Sean) McDonald, Kelly Lloyd and Joseph (Sara) Lloyd; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cirilo and a grandchild, Luna Marie Lloyd.
Visitation will be held at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Friday, Feb. 10 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Peshtigo on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Herbert Kolenda officiating, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to Lakeside Assembly of God, Marinette-Menominee, Jail Outreach or the Gideons International.
