David W. Wickstrom
David W. Wickstrom, 64, of Stephenson, Mi., passed away Monday, Jan. 30 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
Born April 9, 1952 in Marinette, to the late Gordon and Merle (Lindberg) Wickstrom, he graduated from Stephenson High School in 1970 and earned an associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology at Michigan Tech University in 1972. On April 5, 1975, he married the former Joy Gidlof at Bethlehem Covenant Church. He owned and operated Wickstrom Builders with his brother Jim and was a general contractor.
He enjoyed music, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and four-wheeling, but especially loved the personal relationships with his customers and friends. An active member of Bethlehem Covenant Church where he taught Sunday School, he loved the Lord. He was also a member of the Stephenson Township Board of Review and the Planning Commission.
Survivors include his wife, Joy of Stephenson; a daughter, Renee (Joel) Anderson of Howard; a son, Curt (Annetta) of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Nancy) of Daggett, Mi.; a brother-in-law, Dean (Gerry) Gidlof of Pontiac, Mi.; two nephews; two nieces and his step-family Barb, Brenda Dirk and Al.
Family received friends at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson on Friday, Feb. 3 from 4 p.m. until time of a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Visitation continued on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Bethlehem Covenant Church from 9:30 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Rev. Andrew Stonina and Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Covenant Church Cemetery in Spring. A memorial fund has been established in his name for St. Jude's Research and can be directed to Joy Wickstrom.
