Lodavine I. Thorne
Lodavine Isabelle (Cecconi) Thorne, 91, of Iron Mountain, Mi., passed away in her sleep Monday afternoon, Feb. 6 in her apartment at Victorian Pines Estates.
Born Aug. 27, 1925 in Iron Mountain, to Angelo and Margaret (Rossi) Cecconi, she married the love of her life, Richard W. Thorne on May 12, 1950.
A long time resident of Menominee, she lived there for 40 years before returning to Iron Mountain in 2008, where she lived happily at Victorian Pines Estates.
A loving wife and mother, she was wise, honest, kind, generous and fair. Nothing brought her more joy than when her family was together talking, laughing and enjoying her Italian feasts. Her love of family and joy in life made her smile. She encouraged her children to believe in their hopes and dreams and her legacy will be the life lessons learned by her family.
Survivors include four children, Richard C. (Aileen) Thorne, Hartford, Deborah (Peter) Baker, McMillan, Mi.; Pamela (Parnell) Pierce, Ashwaubenon and Dennis (Diane) Thorne, Menominee; six grandchildren; two great-grandsons; many cherished cousins; nieces; nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; three brothers Ray, Ricardi and Richard and two sisters, Mary Lagina and Leona Jolette.
A Celebration of Life was held Friday, Feb. 10 at Erickson Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain with visitation from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 1 p.m. with burial in Cemetery Park.
