Betty Lou Erdman
Betty Lou Erdman, 87, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12 from injuries sustained in a car accident on Feb. 2 in Supply, N. C.
Born March 30, 1929 in Du Quoin, Ill., she married George Rupert Jr. on June 21, 1947 and then remarried to Marvin Glenn Erdman on Aug. 14, 1959.
An amazing woman, wife and mother, she was a longtime member of local VFWs, American Legion and Women of the Moose. She loved bingo and casinos. She also lost her last love (John Howard) in the accident. She will be missed by her family, special friends, Dwight and Corkie Peterson and many other friends in Wisconsin, Illinois, and North Carolina.
She is survived by three children, Linda Powell, Jeffrey Rupert and Marvin D. Erdman; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lucille Coffel and Verna Epplin.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at the VFW Hall in DuQuoin, Ill. on Friday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m., with Fr. Joseph Oganda of Sacred Heart Church presiding. The service in Marinette will be held at Forest Home Mausoleum in Marinette on Monday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m., with Fr. Celestine Byekwaso of Holy Family Catholic Church officiating.
