Donald B. Geurts, 84, of Mountain, passed away Monday, Feb. 6 in Wausau, with his wife, Starlyn (Murray) Geurts by his side.
Born Oct. 15, 1932 in Green Bay, to the late Raymond J. and Lorraine (Heim) Geurts, he served in the United States Marines during the Korean War. After service, he drove semi for Liebman Packing Co., Tectron Tube Corp. and Heim Trucking. He then started Mountain Express Ltd. and also owned and operated the Wayside Bar and Grill with his wife near Mountain.
He will be remembered as a gentleman who put heart and soul into everything he did and his word was his bond.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Starlyn Geurts; five children, Debbie (Tim) Carpenter, Linda (Jim) Johnson, Bruce (Susie) Geurts, Kelly (Tammy) Geurts and Cliff Holiday; a brother, Terry (Marlene) Geurts; father-in-law, Mel Murray; a cousin and special friend, Ken (Geri) Whitney; friend, Dave Santy; grandchildren; brothers-in-law; aunts; uncles and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Geurts; his mother-in-law, Virginia Murray and a sister, Trudy (Mike) Delabreau.
Per his wishes, no services were held. Cards of sympathy can be sent to the family at P.O. Box 294, Townsend, WI 54175. Newcomer Funeral Home of Green Bay assisted the family.
