James A. Briley
James Albert Briley, 44, passed away on his own terms, Thursday, Feb. 9 at his home in Oconto Falls.
Born Aug. 13, 1972 in Iowa City, Ia., his father passed away when he was age 14. He served in the Armed Forces in the Persian Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm.
He worked as a Licensed Contractor, PC Repair Technician, Auto Mechanic and as of 2012 was an Ordained Minister. He earned a GED in June 2014 and was accepted into the Computer Support Specialist " IT Program at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) in Green Bay in September 2014.
He married Meena Kanwar Briley in Menominee, Mi. on May 15, 2015 in the weeks after his terminal cancer diagnosis of which he surpassed his prognosis by almost 24 months.
He will be remembered lovingly by his sons, Micheal, 24 years old and Neal, 18 months. Beyond their love, he had no want.
He is survived by his wife of two years, Meena Kanwar Briley and two sons, Micheal Anthony Briley and Neal James Briley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Verl E. Mattly and mother, Deloris D. Mattly.
A Service Of Remembrance will be held at Lena Lanes, 201 W. Harley Street, Lena on Sunday, Feb. 26 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A light atmosphere and laughter is expected, with the celebration of life ending with a fireworks display. Memorial donations can be made to Nikki Coopman, Owner of K-9 Creations Country Resort to help fund the efforts of placing abandoned, abused, or stray dogs with the right humans in the area. Simply Cremation of Green Bay assisted the family with arrangements.
