Thomas W. Bashford
Thomas William Bashford, 50, of Gypsum, Co., formerly of Peshtigo, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, March 4.
Born March 12, 1966, to William and Jody (Kostrzewski) Bashford, formerly of Peshtigo, he graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1984 and earned a bachelors degree in Architecture at UW-Milwaukee in 1989.
He moved to Fort Collins, Co., relocated to Avon, Co. and then moved for a short time to Phoenix, Az., returning to the Vail Valley in 1999 until presently. He was highly respected in the architecture community by colleagues and clients and spent most of his career in the resorts of Scottsdale and
Vail with resort, hospitality and residential projects in the United States and internationally.
He was working as a Senior Project Manager with Shepherd Resources, Inc., Vail/Beaver Creek Architects specializing in fine residential, resort and ranch architecture.
He served as chair of the Arrowhead at Vail Design Review Committee, was extremely involved with the Boy Scouts of America and was a committee chairman and leader, organizing outings and activities. He was known for his sense of humor.
He is survived by his parents, William and Jody; a son, William; a sister, Lisa (John) Kerns; a niece, Hannah Kerns; a nephew, Kyle Kerns; aunts; uncles; cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Joyce Kostrzewski and paternal grandparents, Loren and Mary Bashford.
A Memorial Service in Colorado will be held at a later date. Shepherd Resources has set up a Go Fund Me account for his son's education.
