Tom Matel, 60, of Oconto, passed away Saturday evening, March 11 at Bellin Hospital.
Born Aug. 14, 1956 in Milwaukee to Robert E. and Monica (Felski) Matel, he moved to the Stiles area with his family in 1970. He graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1974 and married Margaret "Peggy" Williams.
He is survived by five siblings, Robert J. Matel, Susan (Jeff) Hegeman, Elizabeth (Joel) Palenica and Jim (Laurie) Matel, all of Stiles and Judith (Gene) Hodge of Coleman; an uncle, Jim Matel; an aunt, Jean Rappl; two special friends, Robby and Margaret "Mouse" Franks; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Jerome Bukiewicz.
Visitation with the urn present will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Stiles on Saturday, March 25 from 11 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m., with Fr. Bob Karuhn officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Church Cemetery.
