Joan Elizabeth Johnson, 84, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 7.
Born July 13, 1932 in Milwaukee, to Alfred and Virginia Grunwaldt, she graduated from Rufus King High School where she met and married the love of her life, Don Johnson. They moved to Marinette and owned the Don Johnson Company where she played a big part in the family business, but her most fulfilling was being a mother and wife.
She enjoyed her computer and Alexa, flowers, traveling, movies, reading, cooking and going on walks. A loving, kind, friendly and generous person she was quick to smile and laugh, support and encourage and touched many lives.
She is survived by three sons, Donald, Glenn (Laura) and Peter (Robin); three daughters, Victoria (Gregg) Vial, Laurel (Jack) Pope and Jodie; a sister, Suzanne Hall and a brother, Roger (Dottie) Richardson and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Don and a grandson, Brad Corry.
A Memorial Gathering was held Saturday, March 11 at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette from 2 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 4 p.m. Memorials can be made to National Regency of New Berlin, Inc. in her memory.
