Janet A. (Shehow) Hansen, 70, of Porterfield, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay.
She was born December 18, 1946 in Menominee to Albert and Gertrude (Konyn) Shehow. Janet resided in the Marinette area all of her life. She married Richard "Rick" Hansen on August 24, 1968.
Together they owned and operated several businesses in the area. He preceded her in death on November 17, 2015. Janet had a special interest in landscape gardening and a natural gift for interior decorating. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters.
Janet is survived by her son, Jason (Melissa) Hansen of Porterfield; two granddaughters, Sydney and Rylee, who were the light of her life; three sisters, Bonnie (Ken) Paulsen of Menominee, a special sister and friend, Peggy Shehow of Marinette and Dorrie (Ray) Swacker of Abbotsford, Wis.; four brothers, Gerald of Menominee, David (Colleen) and Bruce of Marinette and Randy (Kathy) of Porterfield.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Steven and Scott and a sister, Carol.
At her request, no formal service will be held. Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home is assisting the family.
