Cheryl A. Shampo
Cheryl A. Shampo, 54, of Marinette, passed away Tuesday, March 21 at home surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous four year fight with cancer.
Born April 27, 1962 in Sturgeon Bay, to Donald and Sharon (Vertz) Shampo, she graduated from Stephenson High School in 1980. She had worked for Dr. Peter Kurtz for five years, Bay Area Homes and then Bay Area Medical Center for 15 years until her cancer no longer allowed her to work.
She enjoyed rides on the Harley, gardening, camping with her best friend, Teri and her Tuesday night pool league, but mostly loved time with family and friends.
She is survived by her mother, Sharon Shampo of Wallace, Mi.; two sons, David (Nick) Ford of Pulaski and Paul Ford of Marinette; significant other, Mike Molitor of Marinette and his children, Justin and Ashley and her daughter, Grace; two brothers, Ron (Buffy) Shampo and Jeff (Kim) Shampo, both of Menominee and a sister, Diana (Greg) Hunt of Norway, Mi.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Alibi (formerly Pete's Walk In) from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 26. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
