Phyllis Deloris (Firgens) Ermis, 86, of Suring, passed away Monday, March 13 with her children by her side.
Born Sept. 26, 1930, to the late Richard and Lenora (Nora) Firgens, the fourth of nine children, she married Dennis Ermis on Aug. 19, 1950. A short time later, they purchased a farm on Spruce Road where they spent most of their life making it a success.
A loving, caring and talented person, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, baking, canning, hunting, fishing, woodworking, organ and piano playing and dancing.
She is survived by a sister, Linda Bowman; a daughter Bonnie (Fred) Hedmark; a son, Dohn Sr. (Roma) Ermis; a foster son, Jim (Renea) Krueger; nine grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; many nieces; nephews; cousins; friends and loved ones.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dennis; a daughter, Judith Ann Ermis; sisters, Eleanor Christensen, Lois Howen, Eunice School, LaVerne School and Sandra Brenwall; brothers, Harvey Firgens and Richard Firgens and a foster grandson, Dylan Krueger.
Visitation was held at United Methodist Church in Suring on Friday, March 17 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 3 p.m., with Pastor Dan Nault officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Suring at a later date. Erickson Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountatin, Mi. assisted the family with arrangements.
