Leonard A. Boknevitz, Jr.
Leonard "Lenny" A. Boknevitz, Jr., 73, passed away Tuesday, March 14 in Green Bay at his home surrounded by family.
Born Feb. 19, 1944, in Milwaukee, to the late Leonard and Lorraine (Daniels) Boknevitz, Sr., he graduated from Pius XI High School in 1962. In 1963 he married Judith Spielvogel and they lived in Milwaukee where he worked as a steamfitter and was a member of Union 601 from 1965-1972. He moved his family to Lakewood in 1972 and continued his career with unions 298 and 400 until retiring in 1999.
In 1978 he moved to Green Bay and married Sandra Dessart (Baudhuin). He was a member and past Master of the Gillett Lodge 344 F and AM, the Baja Shrine Temple and Shrine Club, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Green Bay.
He enjoyed playing golf, was an avid collector and loved to travel to warm and sunny places.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; three sons, Wayne (Ruth) of Tampa, Fla., Daryl (Andrea) of Amberg, Chris (Colleen) of Abrams; a daughter, Jill (Mitch) Hendricks of DePere and their mother, Judy Biwer; two step sons, Greg (Marla) Dessart of Green Bay and Kevin (Melissa) Dessart of Minneapolis, Mn. and their mother, Sandi Boknevitz; his wives children, Sarah, Tori and Ryan Below of Green Bay; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Tom (Paula) Boknevitz and a sister, Carol (Mike) Roddy.
Visitation was held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Green Bay on Sunday, March 19 from 3 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 6 p.m. A memorial is set up.
