Vernon L. Anderle
Vernon L. Anderle, 95, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Monday, March 13 at Rennes Health Center-East.
Born May 20, 1921, to the late George and Mary (Yanda) Anderle in Menominee, he graduated from Menominee High School and served in the United States Air Force during World War II. On Dec. 24, 1940, he married Bernice Herson in Menominee and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2012.
He worked at Montgomery Ward, Walter Brothers and was the Mayor of Menominee. A member of the VFW and Resurrection Parish, where he was a long time usher. He loved going to the casino, watching football and baseball, working in the yard and building crafts.
He is survived by a son, Hank (Jane) Anderle of Daggett; a daughter, Sharon (Jerry) Park of San Diego, Ca.; a brother, James Anderle of Menominee; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bernice, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen, May, Lily and Albena and four brothers, Irving, Joe, Jack and George.
Visitation took place at Thielen Funeral Home on Sunday, March 19 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with a Vigil Prayer Service at 4:30 p.m. with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, March 20 at Resurrection Church at 11 a.m., with Fr. McQuesten presiding. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
