Dawn Elizabeth (Bruso) Buzard, passed away Friday, March 24 due to complications from lung surgery, surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and close friend, Pastor Dave Pennell. She often said "I can't wait to start my new and fabulous life in Heaven!"
Born Aug. 22, 1944 in Menominee, Mi., to the late Clarence and Anna Mae (Lafleur) Bruso, she lived there her entire life. She graduated from Menominee High School in 1962 and loved attending the monthly breakfast get-togethers. She worked as a manager at Taco Bell for 24 years.
A kind, generous person, she lived life to the fullest, had a sense of humor and liked taking photos.
Devoted to her family, her favorite times of the year were Waterfront weekend, M & M Game day and Christmas, knowing her family would be together.
Among some of her accomplishments was raising five children, which she referred to as "five beautiful miracles". At the age of 64, she went skydiving, competed in the first annual Polar Plunge in Green Bay and received a trophy for Most Memorable Dive.
The couple loved traveling abroad with her sister and special friend, KaTeri and most recently her and her husband cared for her sister Marsha in her final months before she passed.
With a deep love and a close bond with her sisters, she referred to them as her best friends and enjoyed time with them at family reunions that she organized and planned.
She is survived by her husband, William; five children, Dana Ellis Sirovatka, DeAnna (Kent) Johnson, David (Tina) Ellis, Carolyn (Dan) Buzard and Paul; nine grandchildren; four sisters, Mona (Grant) Bright, Mary (Mel) Johnson, Roana (Dick) Spross and Kateri (Dave) Bahl; first great-grandchild, Chancelor Ellis and many other friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Crystal; two sisters, Germaine Pedo and Marsha Werlein; her mother-in-law, Frances Buzard, Bill's father, William Jackson Buzard and her first husband, Dan Ellis.
Per her wishes, a celebration of her life will be held. Visitation is Wednesday, March 29 from 3 p.m. until time of the service at 6 p.m. at Abundant Life Mission, 1406 Tenth Avenue, Menominee, Mi., with Pastor Dave Pennell officiating. Donations can be made to the Abundant Life Mission. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
