Patrick M. Hendricks, of Crivitz, passed away suddenly Thursday, March 16 at home after a recent cancer diagnosis.
Born Oct. 24, 1946 in Milwaukee, to the late Louis W. and Martha L. (Hirte) Hendricks, he spent his childhood on Lake Keesus near Merton. The family later moved to Sheboygan, where he graduated from North High School in 1964.
After graduation, he and his buddy, Carl "Zip" Tauscheck enlisted in the United States Navy together. Upon discharge, he returned to Sheboygan and married Karen Kummer.
He worked at companies in Sheboygan including Hyson Mfg. and later became a truck driver, like his father. He drove all 48 states and also Canada and Mexico with his dogs. He loved the northwoods and moved to Crivitz.
He met Shirley (Long) Buckland in fall of 2006 and they married on Aug. 19, 2010 and lived near Lake Noquebay. They went back on the road with their two dogs until retirement in September 2016. He volunteered at the Marinette Law Enforcement Center, tutoring inmates to get their GEDs.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a son, Scott (Ronda) Hendricks, Sheboygan Falls; two step-sons, Bill Buckland, Iron Mountain, Mi. and Will (Jasmine) Kahlies, Madison; a step-daughter, Megan (Deeg) Lancour, Cape Coral, Fla.; three sisters, Gail Steidl and Karen (David) Birge of Grand Island, Fla. and Kathy (David) DeVillers of Beverly Hills, Fla.; two brothers, Rick Hendricks, Sheboygan and Roger(Gail) Hendricks, Sheboygan Falls and special friends, Carl "Zip" Tauscheck, Karen Hendricks and many more.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ron Steidl and a nephew, Timothy Steidl.
Per his wishes, he was cremated. Memorial Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Crivitz at a later date.
