Richard D. Mans
Richard D. Mans, 84, of Marinette, passed away Tuesday morning, March 21 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born Oct. 31, 1932 in Marinette, to Walter and Emma Mans, he spent his early life in the area and graduated from Marinette High School in 1950. He then served four years in the United States Navy, two in Barbers Point, Hi. and two in Long Beach, Ca. From 1955 until 1960 he worked at the Prescott Co. in Menominee and at Marinette Marine.
In November of 1960 he moved to Halmsted, Sweden where he married the former Margit Johansson in May of 1961. They lived there for two and a half years while he worked at Nurdiska Filt. In June of 1963, they moved to Marinette where he worked at Interstate Welding Sales Corp until retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Margit; a daughter, Elisabeth Blohm (fiancé, Dean Mehlberg) of Green Bay; a son, Jon (Misty) Mans of Marinette; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two brothers, Wally (Shirley) Mans and Tom (Lana) Mans; special friend, Lonnie and two sisters, Barbara (Richard) Francour and Sharon (Tom) Therriault.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary (Gene) Wyman.
Private committal services were held at Forest Home Mausoleum in Marinette. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home assisted the family.
