Seven Members at Crivitz Legion Unit Meet
Crivitz"The American Legion Auxiliary 413 of Crivitz meeting was called to order by President Marian Wankowski. Chaplain Helen Franzen led us in prayer and a minute of silence was observed for deceased. The Pledge of Allegiance, Preamble to the Costitution and Mission Statement of ALA were said. Seven members attended and minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Nora Swanson gave the treasurers report.
There was no interest locally in Badger Girls State. They are sponsoring Heather Gibbs of Pembine as an alternate. Badger Girls State is June 18-23 at UW-Oshkosh.
The Bakeless Bake Sale Club will be held in April. This is the only fundraiser.
Nora Swanson reporting on membership said there are 53 seniors and 22 juniors paid. No honors will come from the unit If dues are not kept current.
Dates to distribute poppies are May 17-28. Call Wankowski at 715-854-7885 for more information. Meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7 pm.
Poppy posters must be submitted to the judges by May 1.
Zablocki Vet Center in Milwaukee has requested gift bags, sleepers, and baby stuff sizes 6 to 24 months. The VA hospital seeks volunteers and need gift cards for food or stations, phone cards, books, playing cards, shirts, PJ's, and lap robes.
Helen Franzen won the 50/50 and the meeting was closed with a prayer for peace led by Chaplain Franzen.
