Dorothy J. Simonick, 92, of Peshtigo, passed away Thursday, March 30 at Rennes Health Center-East.
Born May 28, 1924 in Hermansville, Mi., to the late Martin and Mary (Kolich) Simonick, she attended basic training in Texas where she joined the WACs. She was a nurse in the United States Army in Japan during World War II and at the V.A. Medical Center in Oakland, Ca.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Lou Augustine of Chicago, Ill. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Tony, Frank, Mike, Joseph and John Simonick and four sisters, Barbara Tomich, Anna Polazzo, Ruby Miller and Katherine Badini.
Visitation will take place at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee, Mi. on Friday, April 7 from 2 p.m. until time of military rites at 3 p.m. A funeral service will follow with Deacon Steve Gretzinger officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Escanaba, Mi.
