THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Elda (Zastrow) Miller, 94, passed away Monday, April 17.
Born Nov. 8, 1922 in Gillett, to the late Frank and Elsie (Strie) Zastrow, she married Delbert Miller on Feb. 20, 1943 and they were together for 40 years until he preceded her in death in 1983. She worked at H.C. Prange for many years and continued working part-time after her retirement.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, gardening, baking, feeding the birds and reading the Bible.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (James) Eland; a daughter-in-law, Ellen Miller; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Linda Haag and a brother, Theodore Zastrow.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Miller; a great-grandson, Ricky Gretzon; two sisters, Doris Steiner and Edna Rusch and a close friend, Bob Gallagher.
A Memorial Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 25 at Lyndahl Funeral Home in Green Bay from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:15 a.m. Burial was in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Gillett.
