Wayne R. "Babe" Funk, 61, of Gillett, passed away Sunday, April 16 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Born Sept. 5, 1955 in Oconto, to the late Wayne Sr. and Rosemary (Courchaine) Funk, he was a true "Gillett" outdoorsman, loved riding motorcycles, enjoyed hunting and was well-known to his family and friends as a grill master. A great entertainer, he loved telling jokes and had a playful nature with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his significant other, Cherie Capaul of Gillett; a son, Adam Funk and a daughter, Amber (Mark) Brown, both of Green Bay; four grandchildren; five siblings, Janice Boggess, Cathy (Roger) Lockstein, Christy (David) Krueger, Cindy Benzar and Curtis Funk; best friend and cousin, Rick (Donna) Dunk; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial gathering was held at at Legacy Funeral Chapels in Green Bay on Monday, April 24 from 5 p.m. until time of Words of Remembrance at 7 p.m. A private burial was held.
