THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Claudine LaVerne (Lawler) Conrad, 90, of Lena, passed away at home on April 22 surrounded by her family.
Born Dec. 9, 1926 in Oconto, to the late Robert and Hazel (Renier) Lawler. She married Richard Conrad on Sept. 3, 1956 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Lena.
She attended Couillardville and Sunnybrook Grade Schools and graduated from Lena High School in 1944. She worked for auctioneer Col. J. A. Sasman, the Coleman Canning Factory, Allen's Red Owl, Baumgart's Variety store, Lena High School kitchen and Mathey and Son's for 26 years.
They operated a farm in the Lena area where she lived until her passing. A devoted mother, she enjoyed the Christmas season, crafting, mowing the lawn, theme parties, writing poems, spending time with her children and long conversations.
She is survived by three children, Kathy (Jon) Simonar of New Franken, Bob (Laurie) Conrad and Tina (Bryan) Walker, both of Green Bay; a granddaughter, Ashley Walker (fiancé Ryan Hoheneder) of Green Bay; a sister, Beverly Lawler of Lena; a brother John "Jack" (Christine) Lawler of Lena; a sister-in-law, Marion Walls; a brother-in-law, Joe Kopke and many nieces; nephews and friends.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her in-laws and all of her husbands siblings.
Per her wishes, private family services will be held with Deacon Peter Gard officiating. Entombment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park Mausoleum in Green Bay. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Lena is assisting the family.
