Robert Eugene Lindmark, Jr., 96, passed away Saturday, April 29.
Born Aug. 24, 1920 in St. Paul, Mn., to the late Robert and Anne (Domian) Lindmark, he marred the former Helen Naomi Rasmus on June 9, 1940 in Iowa and she preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2012.
He spent his career in the optical profession and served as a second-class petty officer in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre of World War II. He was the oldest member of the Elks Lodge in Marinette.
He enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, hunting, fishing and golfing and scored three holes-in-one in his lifetime. He was a technology buff and taught himself how to use the latest hardware from laptops to tablets. Above all, he loved his family and enjoyed time with them.
He is survived by five children, Schaarie (Sante) Di Antoni, Pam (Tedd) Welch, Bob (Chris) Lindmark, Debbie (Vicente) Castellanos and Bill (Pat) Lindmark; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Cleo Rasmus and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; a brother, Richard (Pat) Lindmark and many other relatives.
Visitation will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, Racine on Thursday, May 11 from 9 a.m. until time of a Celebraton of Life at 10 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Warren D. Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Dover.
