Wayne "Red" Young, 84, of Oconto passed away Friday, April 28 at Woodland Villages of Oconto.
Born April 26, 1933 in Oconto, to the late Howard "Mickey" and Carmen (Harwick) Young, he married Shirley Larmay on Nov. 24, 1956 and she preceded him in death on July 23, 2015.
He served in the United States Army and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching the Packers and pro wrestling, playing bingo and the slots.
He is survived by four daughters, Victoria Jenkins, Lisa (Kevin) Ellman and Mary (Dean) Pecha, all of Oconto and Margo (Dean) Greetan of Lena; three sons, Monty (Peggy) Young, Green Bay; Scott (Pennie) Young, Oconto Falls and Russ (Caroline) Young, Oconto; a sister, Joyce Young, Marinette; a brother, James (Sharon) Young, Menasha; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Marty Young; three brothers, Jerry, Thomas and Robert Young and three sisters, Rosie Rogers, Betty Coshenet and Pat Tappa.
The family received relatives and friends at Gallagher Funeral Home of Oconto on Monday, May 1 from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 7 p.m., with Deacon Walter Kaszynski officiating.
