Willington "Bill" DeTemple Sr.
Willington "Bill" DeTemple Sr., 96, of Daggett, Mi., passed away Friday, May 5 at Roubal Care and Rehab Center.
Born July 11, 1920 in Nathan, Mi., to the late Emmanuel and Elizabeth (Kostitchka) DeTemple, she married Verna Mae Laurin at St. Bruno's Catholic Church in Nadeau on Sept. 29, 1945 and she preceded him in death on Nov. 6, 2006.
A farmer and logger, he enjoyed being outdoors, the Casino, was an avid hunter and fisherman but especially loved trips to Canada.
The last surviving sibling of nine children, he is survived by three daughters, Karen (Ronald) LeGrave of Faithorn, Mi., Shirley (Ray) Guard of Daggett, Mi. and Annette (Oscar) Grinsteiner of Wallace, Mi.; four sons, Bill Jr. (Karen), Eaton Rapids, Mi., Donald (Marie) and Dennis (Diane), both of Menominee, Mi. and Robert DeTemple of Nathan, Mi.; 24 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 9 at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Nadeau from 2 p.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 4 p.m. Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiated with burial in Nadeau Township Cemetery. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
