Open House at SC Fire, Rescue in May
The Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary met at 10 AM Monday, May 8 in the Silver Cliff Town Hall. The meeting was called to order by President Dee Farley and a new member was Sue Polecastro.
EMT Vicki Delaski told of the ongoing Open House at the Rescue Squad Building, Monday through Thursday, from 9 AM to 4 PM, all of May, in recognition of National EMT week, May 21-27. On May 26, CPR and AED training will be available for everyone during the day.
A letter from the Silver Cliff Rescue Squad thanked the Auxiliary for their $8,200 donation. The money will be used for an on board computer, software and training, plus portable oxygen tanks.
Three high school applicants for scholarships were reviewed and accepted. The recipients will be invited to the next meeting. The completed, updated By-Laws were approved.
Donations of $500 each will be made to the Christian Food Pantry in Townsend and Pastor Fred's Food Pantry in Amberg.
The remainder of the meeting was spent continuing plans for the 40th annual Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary parade and picnic which will be held on Aug. 12. The 2017 Parade Grand Marshals are Bill and Shari Woger. The meeting was followed by a salad, casserole and dessert luncheon hosted by Sue Vandenberg.
The next meeting will be held at 9 AM on June 12. All ladies, full and part time residents of the Silver Cliff area, are invited to attend the meetings and encouraged to join the Auxiliary.
