Athelstane/Silver Cliff Unit 66 Lists Two Badger State Girls
The Athelstane/Silver Cliff American Legion Auxiliary Unit 66 met at 10 AM on Saturday, May 6 at the Silver Cliff Town Hall. The meeting was called to order by President Dee Farley. Chaplain Lois Haase offered the opening prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble. Treasurer Priscilla Maeder gave her report which was filed for audit. The current paid 2017 membership is 65. An Audit Review Committee, Mary DePrey and Jan Meyer, was appointed for 2016-2017.
The ALA Unit 66 will sponsor two 2017 Badger Girls, Alee Aragon and Natalie Baldwin.
The ALA Unit 66 Scholarship Committee applicants to receive the 2017 Scholarship awards are Jason Jaworski and Courtney Hoffeller.
A report was given for the 2017 Spring Conference. Unit 66 had 10 members in attendance. The 9th District winners were announced for the Poppy Contest. There were four winning entries from our unit that have been sent on to the Department Competition in July, Class IV - Courtney Peterson, Class V - Alam Zamora, Class VI " Brielle Stapleford, and Class VII " Matthew Schleis.
Officers were elected for the 2017-2018 Term; President Dee Farley, Vice President Cassie Meyers, Treasurer Priscilla Maeder, and Secretary Mary DePrey. Unit 66 members signed up to work or be a chairman for the Memorial Day Picnic, June 17th Marinette County Council, June 24th Regular Meeting and 2017 Unit Committees. Chaplain Lois Haase offered a closing prayer for peace. The meeting was adjourned at 11 AM. A light lunch was served after the meeting.
