THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Christian J. Kenney
Christian Joseph Kenney, known by family and friends as CJ, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the young age of 19 surrounded by family.
Born Oct. 25, 1997 to Dennis Jr. and Candice (Lesperance) Kenney in Green Bay, he graduated from Menominee High School in 2016 where he was a member of the MHS golf, basketball, and football teams and youth baseball. He performed in many high school musicals and enjoyed being a member of Menominee Teen Court.
With his compassion and calm spirit, he made many friends. He was selfless and a fun loving beautiful soul that had an infectious smile and big heart at an early age.
He was loved by his family and friends and left many memories. He enjoyed the outdoors, exploring the Northern woods on his Papa and Nana Lesperance's land, hunting with his dad and siblings and shooting his first eight pointer 100 yards from his home on Twin Creek Road.
Other favorites were snowboarding with his brothers Chad and Cyle with many days on the mountains, shooting archery with his sister Carley, scoring parallel "Robin Hoods' on the same evening, long night talks with his Mom, vacations they shared and science fairs and school plays were treasured times together. He also enjoyed skateboarding, golfing and mudding.
He also spent nights fishing with his dad, one of the hobbies they shared in common. He camped at Porterfield Music Festivals in his younger years, building memories for his Grandma and Grandpa Kenney.
Although he loved life, his smile hid the pain he felt that eventually took his life. Our hearts are broken, but our faith reassures us that he is at peace.
He is survived by his parents, Dennis Jr. and Candice Kenney of Menominee; a sister, Carley; two brothers, Chad and Cyle; maternal grandparents, Diane and Michael Lesperance; paternal grandparents, Dennis Sr. and Jessica Kenney; many aunts; uncles; cousins and friends.
