Coleman School Plans Benefit for Teacher
Issue Date: May 24, 2017
Coleman"The Coleman High School Leadership Group is organizing The Donor Dash 5k Walk/Run to raise awareness for organ donations. They invite walkers, runners, or just compassionate community members to support the important cause. All proceeds from The Donor Dash will benefit two organizations, Donate Life Wisconsin and Restoring Hope Transplant House, which assist those who are in need of or have received an organ donation.
The Donor Dash was created by students as a way to show support for Layne Skrupky, a physical education teacher for Coleman School District. Last summer, he underwent two liver transplants and received assistance from both Donate Life Wisconsin and Restoring Hope Transplant House.
The Donor Dash 5K Walk/Run will take place June 3rd with registration at 7:30 AM, inside the Coleman High School doors. The 5K start is at 8:30 AM. Registration forms are available at the high school office and can be returned there prior to the race or directly to the registration table on race day. There is a $20 entry fee. To ensure a t-shirt is received, turn in registration and fee as soon as possible. Besides the 5K, there will also be bucket raffles and donation buckets to help fundraising efforts.
