THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Linda (Fojut) Stimac, 61, of Oconto Falls, passed away Saturday morning, May 27, 2017 at home with family present, following a one year illness with breast cancer.
Born Nov. 17, 1955 in Milwaukee, to Robert and Janice (Wichman) Fojut, she grew up in Franklin and married Michael Stimac on March 22, 1975 in Milwaukee. With his military career in the United States Navy, they lived in Charleston, S.C. before returning to Wisconsin in 1977.
In 1999, the family moved to Athelstane before relocating to Oconto Falls in 2010 where she worked at Atrium Post Acute Care. They enjoyed bowling together in couples leagues.
Survivors are her husband of 42 years, Mike Stimac and four children, Sarah, Stacy, Stephanie and Steven Stimac, all of Oconto Falls; three grandchildren; her father, Robert Fojut Sr., Elkhorn and three brothers, Robert (Kathy) Fojut Jr. and Bill (Sue) Fojut, all of Elkhorn and John Fojut, Las Vegas, Nv. and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice in 1978 and an infant sister, Betina.
Visitation will be at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls on Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral services at noon. Chaplain Brooks Darrah will officiate followed by burial in St. Anthony Cemetery in Oconto Falls.
