Lorraine Adeline (Schick) Linsmeier, 96, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Thursday evening June 22, 2017 at home.
Born April 13, 1921 in Menominee, to the late John and Alvina (Becker) Schick, she was the eldest daughter, "sassy" and smart and grew into a beautiful and clever teen.
In her younger years she enjoyed studying, socializing and dancing with friends until meeting Ray Linsmeier, Sr. They married in 1940 and he preceded her in death on July 24, 1982.
She enjoyed visits from family and friends, golfing, entertaining, cards and traveling to Montana or the party in Hollywood, Ca. Together they liked riding their ATV's and snowmobiles on their properties.
A member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, she also belonged to 4-H Ladies Auxiliary and American Cancer Society and earned citations for her work with them.
Survivors include five children, Raymond Jr. (Bonnie) and Richard (Betty), both of Menominee, James (Mary) of Iron Mountain, Jean (Joseph) Truitt of Stephenson and Nancy Christenson of Phoenix, Az; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra in 2009; a son, John in 2012; a sister, Virginia "Sissy" and four brothers, Edward, John, Gerald and Raymond.
Family received friends at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 28 from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Fr. Michael Ocran officiated, followed by burial in Birch Creek Cemetery. Anderson Kell Funeral Home of Menominee assisted the family with arrangements.
