Marcella O. Chevalier
Marcella O. (Spaude) Chevalier, 92, of Menominee, MI., passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Sun Valley Homes II.
Born March 21, 1925, to the late Albert and Anna (Bauer) Spaude in Menominee, she married Hilary "Chev" Chevalier on Oct. 26, 1946, in Menominee and he preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1996.
She was part of the generation of people who gave so much for the freedoms enjoyed today and was a caregiver for her husband for 37 years. She enjoyed talking with family members and friends, playing baseball with her children, dancing and Roubal's Hall, old movies, fishing and watching and betting on ball games. Her sense of humor and words of practical wisdom will be missed.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda (Ron) Quick of Kaukauna, Rosemary (George) Barosko of Carney, Mi., Theresa (Jeff) Prefontaine of Menominee and Audrey (Tom) Hood of Stephenson, Mi.; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arnold (Shirley) Spaude; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Spaude and 51 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Hilary "Chev", she was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon "Joe" (Jeanie) Spaude and Arthur Spaude; a sister, Marie (August) Hoechrel and 11 brothers-in-law and 15 sisters-in-law.
Visitation took place at Cadieu Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee on Sunday, July 2 from 2 p.m. until time of a Vigil Prayer Service at 4 p.m. with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, July 3 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Church, where she was a member for many years and served on many committees. Fr. Mark McQuesten presided with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials can be given to a favorite charity of one's choice or the Menominee Rescue Squad.
