THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Thomas Richardson, 71, of Marinette, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
Born Nov. 29, 1945 in Menominee, Mi., to Roy and Shirley Richardson, he married Ruie Dettloff on Sept. 3, 1965. He worked at Ansul Co. for 22 years, including four months in Saudi Arabia and Buck Eye Fire Protection in Kings Mountain, N.C., before returning to Marinette.
A member of the Rescue Squad for 22 years, he taught CPR and Emergency Care at NWTI, was chairman of the Red Cross for two years, was Housing Administrator for Northland Lutheran and Director of Purchasing for the complex for 19 years.
An avid reader, he enjoyed writing poems, working on the computer and his cats, but more important was time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Ruie; a daughter, Chris (Jerry) Nelson; grandchildren, Ryan Nelson (Felisha Maurer), Connor Nelson and Lucius and Gavin Janquart; a brother, Tim Richardson; half-sisters, Teresa Perdzock of Menomonie, Wi. and Sue Berth of Oconto and his mother-in-law, Betty Dettloff.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Richardson Janquart; a sister, Bev Watkins and father-in-law, Ray Dettloff.
Friends called at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Marinette on Wednesday, July 19 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. James Wendt officiated with burial in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette assisted the family with arrangements.

Salewsky Jr., of Marinette, who was born June 6, 1950 and passed away Dec. 23, 2016, the Salewsky family would like family and friends to join in celebrating the life and times of Donald on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 5 starting at 1 p.m. A gathering and luncheon will be held at N1107 River Drive, Menominee (one driveway past T.L.C. Lawn Service).
