James Madison "Stick" Overman, 51, of Peshtigo, passed away, Thursday, July 13, 2017.
Born Oct. 25, 1965, to John Overman and the late Eva M. (Knutson) Overman, he graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1984.
In 1983, he was involved in a diving accident that left him a paraplegic. Despite his injury he never complained nor wanted sympathy from anyone. He was independent, prideful and had strong emotional strength he received from his Mother's faith. He never gave up, kept going, was an inspiration to others in ways he never knew and lived his life his way.
He enjoyed his fathers' perfectly fried eggs, Packer games in the garage, deer hunting, deer camp, riding his 4-wheeler and time in the garage working on his truck, cars and woodworking projects.
He is survived by his father, John; a sister, Holly (Steve) Schonfeld of Peshtigo; two brothers, David (Julie) Overman of Marinette and Anthony "Tony" (special friend, Laurie Gaines) Overman of Peshtigo; a special friend, Kim Pillsbury; nieces and nephews, Joshua (Bert) Schonfeld, Derek (Elly), Brandon, Jacob, Christian and Braden Overman, Zachary and Riley Schonfeld and Jamie (Jon) Good; uncles; aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva in 2013.
Family will receive relatives and friends at Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home in Peshtigo on Saturday, July 22 from 10:30 a.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m., with Deacon Chuck Schumacher officiating.
