THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Dick Kramer, 78, of Peshtigo passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his home.
Born May 9, 1939 in Pound, to the late Richard and Ella (Payette) Kramer, as a young man he worked at Kramer Auto Body in Pound, then was employed for over 30 years at Badger Paper Mills in Peshtigo. He married Joyce (Drees) Kramer on July 25, 1964 in Pound.
A past member of the Peshtigo Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, and the Badger Credit Union Board, he was a long-time member of St. Mary's Church in Peshtigo.
He enjoyed fishing, was a private pilot, a woodworker and loved reading, cheering for the Packers and Brewers and taking care of his lawn along the Peshtigo River. They spent their winters in the desert sun in Arizona.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two children, Darren (Jill) Kramer and Danae (Ciske) Kramer and her husband, Nathan; three grandchildren and two sisters, Dorothy (Kramer) Kosnar and Patricia (Kramer) Maronek.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Henry Drees, Verna (Borths) Drees and Nina (Loomis) Drees and a brother-in-law, Ronald Drees.
Visitation will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Peshtigo on Friday, July 21 from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass at noon with Fr. Jess Berdol and Fr. Robert Karuhn concelebrating. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo is assisting the family with arrangements.
