Gerald J. Durocher, 76, of Peshtigo passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017
at the Luther Home in Marinette.
Born Dec. 17, 1940 in Coleman, to the late Alphonse and Helen (Swiatnicki) Durocher, he graduated from Coleman High School in 1959 and participated in football and track. On May 6 1961 he married the former Mary Roberts at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Coleman.
Early in life, he worked at various jobs building bridges in Milwaukee, as a meat packer in Green Bay and drove for U.P.S. In 1974. They moved to Peshtigo where he owned and operated the Peshtigo Package Store and he retired from Marinette County Social Services in maintenance. After retirement he worked part time at Lee's Family Foods.
A member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Peshtigo, he was a Eucharistic Minister, served at many Funeral Masses and was a member of the Knights Of Columbus Council 4th Degree.
He enjoyed building projects, woodworking, deer and pheasant hunting and was a Packers, Brewers and Badger Football fan.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; four sons, Jeff and his daughter, Kyleigh of Marinette, John and his daughter, Abigail Fulton of Phoenix, Az., Kevin and his wife, Stacy and their children, Matthew, Mark, Brea and Brinn of Phoenix, Az. and Jamie and his wife, Dena, and their daughter, Lexi of Houston, Mn.; four sisters, Fay (Don) Smith, Kay (Pete) Lamenski, Rita Berg and Judy (Bob) Henning; 12 nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Betty Durocher.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by, a brother, Roger Durocher and a brother-in-law, Tom Berg.
Visitation took place on Saturday, July 15 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Peshtigo from 8 a.m. until time of a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. with Fr. Jess Berdol, Fr. John Harper and Fr. Robert Karuhn concelebrating. Burial took place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Coleman. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo assisted the family with arrangements.
