Albert "Al" Kienitz, 86, of Marinette, formerly of Wausaukee, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017.
Born July 21, 1931, to the late Alex and Mary (Treptow) Kienitz, he was raised in Birch Creek, Mi. and served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He married Ruth Nordquist July 1, 1962 in Menominee, Mi. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
After their retirement they moved to Wausaukee in the late 1990's. She preceded him in death on July 31, 2006. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Pound.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Ann (Warren) Klitzke; nieces and nephews, Judy Masters, Wendi (Ron) Nolde, Scott (Kelly) Klitzke, Sally (Bill) Neilsen-Conklin, Randy Klitzke and many other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; two brothers, Emil and Rine Kienitz and a sister, Dorothy Brock.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Pound on Friday, July 28 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jim Sonnemann officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery with military rites given by Coleman American Legion. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial fund is being established.
