THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Esther "Lois" (Wolford) Paholke, 79, of Gillett, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017.
Born Nov. 17, 1937, to the late Frederick and Evelyn (Petersen) Wolford, she graduated from Gillett High School in 1957 and married Allen Paholke on June 1, 1957.
An active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hintz since 1957, she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Ladies Aid.
She loved to sew, crochet and make crafts, but mostly enjoyed time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Allen of Gillett; five children, Rev. Michael (Kathy) Paholke of Suring, Randall (Pauline) Paholke and Roger Paholke, both of Gillett and Annette (Douglas) Yanke and Carol Pederson, both of Green Bay; a sister, Doris (Gary) Hischke of Suring; a brother, Kenneth (Phyllis) Wolford of Hales Corners; three sisters-in-law, Elaine (Claire) Hertwig and Sandra (James) Hanson, both of Gillett and Linda (William) Bublitz of Lena; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; step great-grandchildren and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her in-laws; three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, Aug. 3 at Christ Lutheran Church in Hintz from noon until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Pastor Paul Scheunemann will officiate followed by interment in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery.
