Goodman-Armstrong Creek Sets Homecoming Weekend
Goodman-The Goodman-Armstrong Creek Alumni Association will celebrate its 76th Homecoming event at the high school Friday, Sept. 8 with a pep rally at 7 p.m. and a bonfire at 8 p.m.
Activities will continue Saturday, Sept. 9 with a parade at 10 a.m., The Varsity Club will sell breakfast sandwiches, treats, hot cocoa and coffee along with T-shirts and items before, during and after the parade. The Goodman Historical Society building will be open with many displays.
The football game against Crandon is at 1 p.m. There will be an alumni board meeting at 4 p.m., alumni cocktails at 5 p.m., alumni dinner at 6 p.m., with dance at 8 p.m. Goodman Clubhouse at the Goodman Fireside Supper Club and Ballroom. Live music will be 4 North Acoustic.
A silent auction will be held to raise money for college scholarships. The alumni has already awarded over $17,000 in scholarships for graduating seniors going to college or technical school. Items are donated by alumni, businesses and state sports teams and donations are always welcome. Contact Bernie Laurich at 920-738-6782 to donate an item.
Cash donations to the School Fund are also welcome. Each year interest from this fund is awarded to a different classroom. This year it will be the third grade classroom. All alumni and teachers are welcome to attend. Respond as soon as possible with payment included. Tables for larger class groups can be reserved. Dinner cost is $20 each and alumni membership dues are $5.
