Joanne D. Karuhn
Joanne D. Karuhn, age 75, Thunder Lake (Crivitz) resident, passed away Sunday with her family by her side.
She was born to the late Charles and Marion (Buege) Behrend May 24, 1942 in Marinette. Joanne graduated from Coleman High School in 1961. On September 15, 1962, Joanne married her high school sweetheart, Thomas E. Karuhn. She then went to Cosmetology School and opened and operated Joanne's Styling Salon in Fond du Lac.
In 1988, the couple moved to Thunder Lake where Joanne ran a salon for many years. Joanne enjoyed planting flowers and gardening, the Green Bay Packers, and was famous for her Swedish meatballs.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kaye (Tim) Michels of Fond du Lac and Kim (Steve) Parsons of Brandon, as well as four grandchildren, Trista (Rick) Bubolz, Trevor Michels (Carissa), Alexandra and Jordan Parsons (Adam), and her two great-grandchildren, Breckin and Kayden Bubolz. She is also survived by her four sisters, Patricia (Don) Marshall, Barbara (Charles) Hoffman, Bonnie (Jack) Hughes, and Lori (Dale) Eisner, as well as her one brother, Larry (Lisa) Behrend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, May 4, 2009.
Family will greet relatives and friends Thursday, August 17, at St. Mary's Church in Crivitz from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11 a.m. Rev. Bob Karuhn will be officiating. Burial will take place at Mountain Cemetery. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Crivitz is assisting the family.
