Laurel "Laurie" (Rathburn) Buschatz, 87, of Townsend, passed away Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017.
Born Sept. 12, 1929 in Escanaba, Mi., to Ray and Inez Rathburn, she was raised in Green Bay and graduated from West High School in 1947 and from UW-LaCrosse in 1951. She married her college sweetheart, Daniel Buschatz, on Aug. 18, 1951 and moved to the Milwaukee area where they raised two daughters.
She taught English and Phy Ed for many years until they retired and moved to the Lakewood/Townsend area. She enjoyed golfing, painting and getting together with family and friends. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Red Hatters.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel, Townsend; a daughter, Barbara (Buschatz) Brodahl, Coleman; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Roberta (Buckley) Brand and a son-in-law, Duane Anderson, all of Green Bay; a brother, Roger Rathburn, Boulder, Co.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bud (Rita) Kuhrasch and nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Rathburn; her eldest daughter, Margaret (Buschatz) Anderson and a sister-in-law, Katie (Hougard) Rathburn. A
A private Memorial Service will be held for immediate family members and close friends. Weber-Hill Funeral Home of Crandon/Wabeno is assisting the family with arrangements.
