Lorin R. Mayer, 80, of Iron River, Mi., passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 at Aspirus Iron River Hospital.
Born May 24, 1937 in Green Valley, to the late Albert and Hilda (Regal) Mayer, he worked as a machinist at Nor Fab for over 35 years. He enjoyed fishing and golfing.
He is survived by a step-son, Larry (Kay) Giese of North Carolina; a grandson, Wes Willette; two brothers, Dennis (Judith) Mayer of Abrams and Mitchell Mayer of Gresham and a nephew, Joe (Erin) Mayer of Peshtigo.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lorin "Buddy" Randy Mayer, Jr.; a daughter, Cynthia Willette and four brothers, Merlin, Raymond, Ronnie and Randy.
A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, Aug. 26 at the Mitch Mayer residence, W10209 Beauleau Lake Road in Gresham at 11 a.m., officiated by Fr. Francis Zurbano. Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River assisted the family with arrangements.
