Crivitz School Board Salaries Kept $1500
Crivitz-The Crivitz School Board set the school district's 2017-18 budget during its annual meeting held on Tuesday, Aug. 29.
The school district's total expenditures for the 2017-18 school year are set at $9,817,846 and total revenues are projected at $9,861,430, according to the budget by Business Administrative Assistant Linda Tarmann. Revenues include a tax levy approved by the board at the meeting in a resolution, with $6,391,619 "for the purpose of defraying the cost of the operation and maintenance of the public school" and $30,000 for Community Service Fund 80 for a total of $6,421,619.
During the meeting, the board also elected Mike Dama as chairman for another year, appointed attorney James Kalny as parliamentarian and school board annual salaries were kept at $1,500 per member.
The board also approved a series of resolutions that must be re-approved annually, covering areas such as reimbursement for school board members, retaining legal counsel, furnishing free textbooks, student transportation, student insurance, authorization to borrow funds and authorization for the school board to dispose of school property deemed no longer necessary for school purposes.
The 2018 annual meeting was set for Tuesday, Aug. 28, with the budget hearing scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the meeting to follow at 8 p.m.
